Dr. Sumaya Mohammed Alblooshi

President

My Story

President of Emirates Nursing Association, a lead to the taskforce committee for Cabinet Initiative (Attractiveness of Nursing Profession) since January 2015 and Leading the National Nursing and Midwifery Strategy in the UAE and Honorary associate professor at MBRU and Director of Nursing Department, in Emirates Health Services. I am an Awardee of Emirates Pride Medal for Mohammed Bin Rashid Government 2017, Community serving Medal 2020, Best Government Communication Campaign in promoting nursing profession (2018) and “Pioneer Nurse” at the Global Health Pioneer Awards. I'm recently inducted as fellow of American Academy of Nursing. I have a rich nursing education background and has a specialization Critical care nursing and has earned a PhD in Nursing Philosophy from Jordan University-Jordan. In addition to my qualification in Nursing I have earned Master Degrees in Quality Management and in Public Health from Wollongong University and Harvard T.H. Chan University respectively. Also, completed Nursing and Health Care Leadership and Management Program under McMaster University. As like my vast educational qualification, I also have many years of professional experience as staff nurse, nurse supervisor, Department in-charge and Director of nursing in Kuwait hospital-Sharjah. I have a sound knowledge and expertise in nursing administration, education and research. I'm an ICN board of Directors member from 2022, member in GCC technical committee, member in EMRO for nursing and midwife’s situation and member in nursing Specialized (Arabic Board) committee. I've rendered my service as a member in developing the Strategic plan for Ministry of Health and Prevention in 2005.

My Story

Acting CEO of Sheikh Khalifa Medical City and Al Rahba Hospital in Abu Dhabi, UAE. She was the Chief Nursing Officer and Chief Operation Officer for 16th outpatient specialty clinics at the same two organizations. She is a Registered Nurse, a vice president of Emirates Nursing Association (ENA). She holds a Bachelor in Nursing from Southern Queensland University in Australia, Master degree in Health Care Management Marymount University in USA and Doctor Business Administration Abu Dhabi University in the UAE. Dr. Safa has a total of 28 years of experience in Nursing and hospital administration with more than 22 years of progressive leadership experience. Up-to-date, she has 7 years of experience as an executive level leader as a Chief in Nursing, Operation Chief and Hospital Chief Executive Officer. She was the FIRST Emirati national who took the position as a Chief Nursing and Allied Health Officer at SKMC, one of the largest tertiary healthcare facility in the UAE. Dr.Safa is the Executive sponsor of SEHA Emirati Nursing, Midwifery, and Allied Health Committee. She is the founder of SEHA IHSAN Award (the first Award at SEHA and UAE for Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health), IHSAN Steering Committee chair, SINMAC Scientific Committee chair, member of ICN congress scientific Committee, Co-Chair of the medical affair for World Union wound Healing Society “WUWHS”. Moreover, she is leading and been an active senior leader member in different committees at SEHA Corporate level as well as Department of health. Throughout Dr. Safa’s career, recently she received a diamond award under the Executive Award Categories from Harvard Business Council USA for 2022 cycle, and has been recognized with numerous awards, including the Nursing Leadership Award from Cleveland Clinic-Ohio USA in 2016. She is also a recipient of “SKMC Caregiver” Award in 2015 & 2019 which highlights excellence in professional conduct, been chosen as one of the Dreamers that was presented during EXPO 2020 in UAE pavilion.

Asma Almazrouei

My Story

Holding Master of Science in Nursing since 2013. Having more than 18 years of experience as registered nurse. Worked in Saqr Hospital-Ras Al Khaimah in several specialties cascaded from staff nurse in surgical wards and Outpatient clinics to Incharge of postnatal ward, and as infection control practitioner. Moved to school health as Director of nursing in 2013. Currently I am working as Assistant Director of Nursing Affairs in Primary Health Care at Ras Al Khaimah a JCI Accredited facility. I have been with Emirates Nursing Association as Board member since 2021 and a member since 2011.

My Story

I am a qualified registered Nurse, and treasurer at Emirates Nursing Association-ENA. I worked as director of nursing, In Charge in Alrifaa primary health center, Sharjah, UAE. I’m holding Diploma in nursing from Sharjah institute-UAE and bachelor in Nursing Science from Science and Technology University, Jordan. I have total 22 years of experience in nursing field and hospital administration. I have a vast professional experience as I have worked as director of nursing in Al Dhaid hospital-UAE from period of 2005 till 2015. Also, as specialist at nursing department head quarter at Ministry of Health and prevention-MOHAP from 2015 to 2017. Worked as staff nurse in medical, surgical units and primary health care. Moreover, I have played a role as volunteer in Red Crescent from 2016 until present and I have has participated in humanitarian activities as student and served in Athena from 2016 to 2017.

Dr. Fatima Al Rifai

My Story

I was an advisor for nursing affairs for Ministry of Health and Prevention-MOHAP till April 2021. This role includes providing guidance and consultations on nursing issues to MOHAP officials, the Nursing Department and other departments. Also, I was the Secretary of the UAE Nursing and Midwifery Council (UAE NMC) and Board member since 2010 till April 2021. I have has experience of more than 30 years in leadership role upgrading and promoting nursing services, education, regulation, and professional identity in UAE, through establishing the Federal Department of Nursing, the UAE Nursing and Midwifery Council and the Emirates Nursing Association. The scope of this included providing strategic directions and support for nursing services, contributing to transforming nursing education from the technical diploma level into the professional Bachelor level, building up the Council’s structure and promoting nursing professional identity and image. I’m currently involved in international, regional, and national projects that I have led and provided consultation and advice. This includes for example working with WHO, EMRO, ICN and UAE Women Union and being member in several national, regional and international professional organizations.

Asma Alhosani

My Story

I'm a specialist nurse at EHS, having tremendous experience in the healthcare sector for over 25 years. I am awarded as “Distinguished Women in Healthcare” at the Annual Health Awards-2018, UAE. I have vast educational qualification and a clinical specialization in operating rooms, ER,Mid-Surg, critical care and CSSD. I’ve earned Masters of Science in Healthcare Management from RCSI in Ireland-Dubai 2019 and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Arts from University of Sharjah-UAE 2005 as well completed Nursing and Healthcare Leadership and Management Program from McMaster University 2002. Efficaciously succeeded to manage the implementation of Student Electronic Health Record “Wareed System” for 271 schools with ESE in 2021-2022 and 77 school in pipeline for SEC-Sharjah Gov for 2023. I’m a board member and Digital Transformational Team Lead at the ENA. I’ve participated as a member at the advisory board committee of UOS in overseeing the development and the operation of the academic nursing courses (Basic, Bridging streams and establishment of Masters of Critical Care nursing module) from 2016-2020. Prior to this, I worked at Kuwait Hospital Sharjah as Director of Nursing, advanced nursing community, streamlined all operations at the facility and the massive emergency preparedness in response to the emergence to the rapid development and high transmissibility of COVID-19 outbreak from 10th,Feb,2020. This demanded an immediate timely and extraordinary coordinated response where ‘speed trumps perfection’, was evident from key imperatives in initiating the first critical Isolation units with 112 bed capacity to handle the flooded critical cases and ensuring the agility of nursing workforce response over time.

My Story

Assistant director for nursing Affaire in Abdullah bin Omran Hospital for obstetrics and gynecology-UAE. Holding Master degree in community health and certified trainer for leadership for change program from International Council of Nurses- ICN. I have a strong leadership skill combined with excellent communication and problem-solving skills as well as ability to work under pressure. I have robust administrative experience and with a virtuous understanding of the dynamic nature of the health sector and the clinical governance. Moreover, I have the ability to initiate change, delegate responsibilities, encourage professional development and enhance the quality of nursing practice. A message to all nurses “it’s never too late to achieve what we dreamed, together through nursing career we can success and show the worlds the shine side of being a nurse.”

Naeema Rajab

My Story

Is Registered Nurse (RN), Acting Assistant Director of Nursing at Rashid Hospital and Dubai Health Authority-DHA. A graduate nurse from Sharjah University with BScN in general nursing and completed Master Degree in International Health Management [IHM] in 2014 with Bradford University. In addition, completed the ICN Leadership for Change program [LFC] Phase-4 in 2013 and the train-of-the trainer program [LFC–ToT] in 2014. Participated as a trainer for LFC Phase-5 in 2015-2016. Started nursing profession life as a clinical bedside staff nurse in the Surgical units and the Burns unit. Climbed the professional ladder to be the Senior Staff Nurse in-charge of the Female Private Rooms Unit in 2011 and the Charge Nurse of the Burns unit in 2013. Initiated and chaired the RH Emirati Nurses Family\Forum in 2010 and managed the New Graduate Nurses Development program through 2012-2014. Actively participated in a number of nursing activities, forums and committees. A member and the Co-Chair of the Practice Scientific Committee of UAE Nursing & Midwifery Council [UAE NMC], a National member in the Emirates Nursing Association [ENA] as Board member. Chairperson of the DHA Nursing Advisory Council for the nursing documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR). Presented research papers at national and international conferences (ICN, DHA, ENA and UAE-NMC). Participated in TV programs for promoting nursing profession in UAE and published articles about the development of RH-ENF in local newspapers.

Asma Almsmari

My Story

She has been working as Emergency Unit manager at SEHA, Sheikh Khalifa medical city. She earned Her Bachelor of Since on Nursing from Sharjah University 2012 and Her Master of Healthcare management from RCSI. Asma chairs and leads and SEHA-wide committees and initiatives, including SEHA Nursing Emiratization Committee and SEHA Emergency Advisory Committee. Moreover, Asma was part of taskforce on creating Hosn Al Watan initiatives which aim to improve Nursing perception and encourage Youth Emirati to study nursing. Moreover, Asma was Chosen as motivational Speaker to encourage student and youth choose Nursing career. Asma well trained ED nurse with different certification such as ACLS, PALS, TNCC, CBRNE, and disaster management.

My Story

Currently working for Nursing Operations and Nursing Care, Planning and Policy Specialist in Department of Nursing, Emirates Health Services. Prior to the post of District Director of Nursing in Umm Al Quwain Medical District in Ministry of Health and Prevention. I carried out number of roles and responsibilities in nursing management as Director of Nursing in Department of Nursing, Nurse Supervisor, Department In charge and staff Nurse and I have contributed in other executive levels since 2001. I have rich nursing education background and has specialization in Nursing Administration. I am holding Master’s degree in Public Administration from Mohammed Bin Rashid University. Additionally, I have Nursing Management Training in Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS in London, UK in 2018. I also have NHS Leadership Academy Award in Health Care Leadership Foundations, London – UK. I attended Global Health Delivery Intensive Program at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health in Boston, USA in 2016 as well a Global Nursing Leadership membership as GInI in Geneva, Switzerland by International Council of Nurses in 2009. I have a knowledge and expertise in Nursing Administration and Management. Also, I have the ability to multitask and balance the strategic initiatives of delivering quality care, patient satisfaction and employee relations whilst collaborating with all stakeholders.

Ms. Laila Sultan AlAli is Assisting Director for Nursing Affair in Umm Al Quwain Hospital in the Emirates Health Services since 2004 till date. I am responsible in organizing nursing services in the Hospital . I was Honored as an exemplary employee at many levels.I had participated in various committee related to the Nursing , Organization and Operation. I was participated in establishment of Association and Experience different position in the Emirates Nursing Association since 2000. my Expertise as certified trained as Trainer Leadership for Change since 2005 and Internal Quality Management System Auditor and International Auditor for EFQM Model.
