ENA Midwifery Society Celebrates International Midwives’ Day 2026
Building on our previous communications, the ENA Midwifery Society is proud to celebrate International Midwives’ Day, observed annually on May 5th.
The 2026 theme, “Midwives: Critical in Every Crisis,” as highlighted by the International Confederation of Midwives, emphasizes the essential role midwives play in delivering lifesaving care during emergencies, humanitarian settings, and routine practice.
This global occasion, led by the International Confederation of Midwives, recognizes the vital contributions of midwives in safeguarding the health and well-being of mothers and newborns. It also underscores the importance of strengthening the midwifery workforce as a cornerstone of resilient and responsive health systems.
On this day, we honor the dedication, expertise, and compassion of midwives across all care settings, and reaffirm our commitment to supporting the profession, promoting excellence in practice, and improving maternal and newborn health outcomes.
Join us in celebrating midwives for the critical role they play in shaping healthier communities.
