ICN Powerful Theme "Our Nurses. Our Future. Caring for Nurses Strengthens the Economy"
On 12th of May, in conjunction with International Nurses Day 2025, the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP) of the United Arab Emirates, in collaboration with the World Health Organization Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean (WHO-EMRO), will officially launch the State of the World’s Nursing (SOWN) 2025 report. The virtual event, to be held via Microsoft Teams, will be hosted by Emirates Health Services (EHS), reaffirming the UAE’s commitment to strengthening the nursing workforce and advancing healthcare systems across the region.
This year's powerful ICN theme, "Our Nurses. Our Future. Caring for Nurses Strengthens the Economy," highlights an essential truth: investing in the health and well-being of nurses is not just a moral imperative but also a strategic necessity for stronger health systems and thriving economies. When nurses are supported, valued, and empowered, entire communities flourish.
Nurses globally continue to face critical challenges, including workforce shortages, difficult working conditions, and limited recognition in policymaking. Addressing these issues requires focused, evidence-based action and genuine collaboration at all levels.
