Introduction

We are the voice of perioperative nurses in UAE . We are proudly collaborates with the international Association of perioperative Registered Nurses (AORN) to advance excellence in perioperative nursing Focusing on enhancing patient care and safety in surgical settings through advocacy, education, and collaborative efforts.

Vision

Strives to advance perioperative nursing practices, ensuring daily safe surgical care for every patient in UAE.

Mission

Empower perioperative nurses with knowledge, up-to-date clinical evidence, guidelines, recommendations, and best practices to excel in surgical care, striving to achieve zero harm.

Objectives

Collaboration between AORN Chapter and ENA OR Society:  

Establishing the UAE AORN Chapter under the ENA umbrella will foster alignment with ENA's mission and vision, promote collaboration, increase membership, and create a unified vision for healthcare professionals in the UAE.

Professional Development:  

  • Provide access to ongoing education, training, and professional development opportunities for perioperative nurses in the UAE.  

  • Enhance skills and knowledge, elevating the overall quality of patient care across healthcare facilities.  

Networking Opportunities:  

  • Facilitate networking among perioperative nurses, creating a collaborative community for sharing experiences, insights, and best practices.  

  • Encourage partnerships on research projects, innovations, and initiatives that advance perioperative nursing in the UAE.  

Standardization of Practices:  

  • Actively work towards establishing and promoting best practices in perioperative nursing.  

  • Contribute to the standardization of practices, ensuring high quality and consistency in perioperative care across different healthcare facilities in the UAE.

Leadership Opportunities:  

  • Offer valuable leadership opportunities for perioperative nurses, allowing them to serve on committees, take elected positions, and actively participate in chapter activities.  

Continued Learning:  

  • Organize seminars, workshops, and conferences to provide continuous learning opportunities for perioperative nurses.  

  • Foster a better understanding of the crucial role played by perioperative nurses in the healthcare system. 

Local Advocacy:  

  • Act as a local, regional and international advocate for perioperative care

Scope of Practice

  1. To unite perioperative registered nurses in UAE to promote the highest professional standards of perioperative nursing practice for optimal patient care before, during, and after operative and other invasive procedures.

  2. Collaborating with UAE AORN Chapter to advance perioperative practices in the UAE.

  3. To provide opportunities for continuous professional development, to include diversified educational activities.

  4. To generate, evaluate and disseminate scientific evidence to improve professional perioperative practice.

  5. To provide leadership in professional perioperative practice to influence health care delivery locally, nationally, and globally.

  6. Cooperate with professional associations, healthcare facilities, universities, industries, technical societies, research organizations, and governmental agencies on matters related to their missions.

  7. To otherwise lawfully adopt policies and conduct programs for the improvement of professional perioperative practices in UAE.

  • We are committed to optimizing surgical patients' safety and outcomes by driving evidence-based principles, practices, and proficiency in perioperative care through : 

  • Education and Training Programs: Offer workshops, seminars, and certification courses that promote evidence-based perioperative care practices.

  • Collaboration and Networking: Partner with other healthcare organizations, professionals, and industry leaders to share best practices and standards.

  • Public Awareness Campaigns: Educate the public about perioperative care standards and the role of healthcare professionals in ensuring patient safety.

Joining Criteria

Current Perioperative Registered Nurses: Actively involved in providing perioperative services.

Previously Registered Nurses: Individuals who have experience in OR, whether they are new or experts.

Retired Perioperative Nurses: Those who have provided direct or indirect perioperative services during their careers.

Support for the Mission: All members have to support the mission of the societies.
