Theme and Video campaign "Breastfeeding Support for All: Let’s Close the Gap"
In support of World Breastfeeding Week, United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) is excited to announce the video campaign: Breastfeeding Support for All: Let’s Close the Gap, running from August 1st - 7th, 2024. This campaign will celebrate breastfeeding mothers, their journeys, and those who support them.
The theme for this year is "Closing the Gap: Breastfeeding Support for All." You can learn more about the theme and World Breastfeeding Week 2024 by following this link: World Breastfeeding Week 2024 (who.int).
World Breastfeeding Week is celebrated during the first week of August each year, supported by WHO, UNICEF, various Ministries of Health, and civil society partners. This year’s focus is on ensuring that all mothers, especially those in vulnerable populations, receive the support they need.
There are actions we can all take to help women breastfeed as long as they wish. Let's come together and show our support!
We invite parents and organizations that support breastfeeding globally to participate by sending us a short video (30 seconds to 1 minute). Please share a sentiment about this year’s theme, focusing on your experience breastfeeding, or your experience working in the field of breastfeeding. These videos will be shared through UNITAR’s social media channels and with WHO.
Please add in to your video: “Hi, I am from (Association Name) in (Country Name), we support breastfeeding for all, let’s close the gap.”
